Urban Myth: Jesse Jackson Loves Black People

by GiovanniJuly 5, 2008

Jesse Jackson Fact: Jessie Jackson really only loves himself. And media attention. And his power. And his money. He proved it this week with his stuck-on-stupid comment about Barack Obama on Fox news.

He proved it this week with his stuck-on-stupid comment about Barack Obama on Fox news. This was not only dumb but self-destructive. Barack Obama is the Senator representing his home state of Illinois. His son Jessie jr. is a Congressman from Chicago, Obama’s hometown and the base of his support. The impending election of Barack Obama as President would only help the entire Jackson family attain untold access to the pinnacles of power and influence, if only Jessie Sr. knew how to play a winning hand. Instead he threw in his cards and then went all in anyway. He knows or should know that networks keep their mics open and record off air conversations all the time. Just ask Katie Couric. But his comments revealed the truly dark side of a man who should have been the true successor to Martin Luther King, jr. but instead once took a meeting in a hotel room with this author’s father dressed only in his underwear and a tee shirt. Not only can you not buy class, you cannot teach it either. Jessie Jackson, urban myth.
